OUR MISSION

Ray of Light LA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to feeding the body and inspiring the mind. We fight food insecurity, uplift families, and create healing, supportive spaces where our community can feel nourished, valued, and seen.
OUR STORY

Ray of Light LA was founded by Chef Goldie (Alana Ray) of Most Player Plates, a self-taught chef from Los Angeles who turned her gifts, her grind, and her heart for the community into a purpose-driven mission.

Chef Goldie has been cooking since she was nine years old — building a career as a food truck owner, private chef, and caterer for families, celebrities, and corporations across LA. But no matter how far her culinary journey took her, she never forgot the people and neighborhoods that raised her.

Ray of Light LA was born from her desire to give back in a real way. What started with Goldie showing up to feed people during hard times has grown into a full nonprofit movement serving Los Angeles with dignity, love, and hope.
IN MEMORY OF FELICIA LEE RAY JENKINS

Ray of Light LA is named in memory of Alana’s aunt, Felicia Lee Ray Jenkins — the true “Ray of Light” behind this organization.

Felicia had a rare gift for making people feel seen, special, and important. She raised an entire family with love and still found the strength to look out for neighbors, friends, and anyone who needed her. She always went above and beyond, giving without expecting anything in return.
Her warmth, generosity, and steady light continue to guide our mission. Ray of Light LA honors her legacy by feeding, supporting, and uplifting the community the same way she did throughout her life.
